Book on Food Systems and Sustainable Development Goals

This book, edited by my colleagues Prajal Pradhan and Laxmi Prasad Pant, examines the relationship between food systems and sustainability, exploring wh transforming the food system is a vital step in achieving sustainability that extends beyond the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Here you find a short summary of the book, to which many authors contributes, each focusing on one of the SDGs in relation to food.

Stephen Leitheiser, Pablo Tittonell, Ellen-Maarja Trell and I wrote a chapter on SDG11.8 which aims to reconnect rural and urban areas, enabling interactions between farmers and consumers. Based on the principles of post-growth agriculture we show examplary cases from both the global North and global South, illuminating the pathways towards practicing the principles of sustainable food systems.
